The first Indonesian thermal power project of SUMEC is successfully connected to the grid2019-10-29
Recently, the #1 unit of the 2X25MW Coal-fired Power Plant Project in Gorontalo, Indonesia, constructed by SUMEC Complete Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “SUMEC Complete Equipment”), an affiliate to SUMEC Group Corporation (hereinafter “SUMEC”), was successfully connected to the grid, with the positive outcome of overspeed test of steam turbine and the satisfactory parameters. It becomes another milestone after the #2 unit was connected to the grid and passed 720 hours of reliable operation.
The 2X25MW Coal-fired Power Plant Project in Gorontalo is a success in the phase I planning of rapid construction of 10,000MW coal-fired power plant under the investment by PT PLN, and is also the first thermal power project of SUMEC Complete Equipment. After the completion, it will efficiently relieve the burden of power consumption in the local place and drive the local economic and social development.
For the successful connection of #1 unit to the grid, all members of the project team of SUMEC Complete Equipment adhered to the time node as the goal and to building a high-quality project as the orientation, actively communicated and coordinated with the power grid, owners and other subcontractors, carefully checked every parameter, and reasonably arranged subsequent electrical tests. The continuous struggle for nearly 24 hours ensured the successful connection of #1 unit to the grid. The overspeed test of steam turbine had a positive outcome and the testing was satisfactory to applicable specifications and requirements.
The engineering contracting is a significant component of SUMEC’s strategic positioning of “the international enterprise group with supply chain integrated services as the main body and advanced manufacturing and engineering contracting as the two limbs”. The successful grid connection of the 2X25MW Coal-fired Power Plant Project in Gorontalo, Indonesia gives strong support to SUMEC’s expansion and development of Indonesian market.
